Ironbound Medical Services (IMS) is staffed with two board certified physicians (MDs) who each have over 30 years of workers’ compensation experience. With their extensive experience, they will appropriately and promptly diagnose and treat your injured employee while avoiding OSHA reportability or lost work-time whenever possible. They encourage you to call in and verbally report any information you feel is important for them to know regarding any suspicious circumstances regarding an injury, preferably before they see your employee. Unlike many of our competitors, who promote immediate physical therapy often because they have a vested interest in it, whether it’s really needed or not, our physicians are more conservative. Treatment is more stepwise, and gets more aggressive with each visit if the employee is not improving as expected. Over-the-counter medications and home exercises are utilized to keep your expenses down. Obviously, if they feel therapy is needed, they will order it. Studies show that each patient is different and while some patients require physical therapy, many do not. An MRI will be done if indicated by the physical exam or if improvement plateaus. Our goal is to quickly and accurately diagnose your employee and then treat them appropriately so they can continue working or return to full duty as soon as possible at the lowest cost possible to you.
